Hello Everyone!

It has been a while since our last update. A lot has been going on at Kollective camp. We have had many great shows and are packing the summer with many more great shows. We have also been working on our newest venue, The Complex. The Complex is scheduled to open in July, so make sure you come check it out. It is one building with 5 venues inside- included are a couple of bars for you older folk. Check our facebook for scheduled shows http://www.facebook.com/ComplexSLC?ref=ts. Also, make sure you add us as a friend. We give away a bunch of cool stuff and free shows to people who are our friends. You don't want to miss out on that.

So keep in touch with us, because this summer is sure to be one to remember!

A Day to Remember at Saltair

For all of you that don't keep up with our "Official Website" or heard our big new concert announcement, Here it is!

A Day to Remember is coming to Saltair on May 7, 2010! I know it is a long ways away, but it is going to be such a great show. The lineup is killer. Go Radio will open the show, followed by Enter Shakari, Silverstein, August Burns Red, and of course ADTR.

So if you are super stoked and can't wait to buy your tickets, they go on sale at all Smithstix locations and smithstix.com starting Friday, Jan. 22.

Bands You Should Know About: Swimming with Dolphins

Hey Everyone! It has been a long time since our last post. Since we have a website that tells you all of our upcoming shows, this is the place to come to check out some of the bands playing you may not know too much about.

The first band we are featuring is Swimming With Dolphins out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This band is a one man band headed by Austin Tofte and produced by Adam Young

(Yes, Owl City's Adam Young)

The band has an electric pop sound similar to that of Owl City (but a bit more dancy and upbeat).

In 2008, they released their EP titled "Ambient Blue"

The Kollective Presents - Lotus 10/14

Philadelphia's Lotus will be bringing their own brand of instrumental dance-funk to the Murray Theater on October 14th on their "Pay What You Want Tour". That is right: "The Pay What You Want Tour." It means exactly what it says, following Radiohead's pay what you want record model and taking it into the concert world and allowing fans and concert goers to pay what you think is fair for their concert experience.

Lotus was formed in the late 1990s as a way to fight against the conservative minded nature of the Mennonite College the band were going to. The music evolved into what it is today, an easily groovable electronic-rock showcase. The band has spent the last ten years working the touring circuit and having their music remixed by some of the best names in the electronic world.

Lotus is known for their live shows which involve a very large light rig and a highly energetic show on behalf of the band's members. They have toured the world and now coming to Utah to support their new dual EP selections Oil on Glass and Feather on Wood releasing October 6th.

The Return Of Marilyn Manson - September 5th at Saltair

The Kollective will be proud to present Marilyn Manson on September 5th, 2009 at Saltair in Magna, Utah. Manson is on tour in support of his new album The High End Of Low released earlier this year. Support for this tour will be September Mourning, the self proclaimed electro rock group.

Manson's new album comes on the heels of a hiatus from music. He returns full force with The High End Of Low which sees him return to his mid 90s roots while still keeping an eye forward to the future.

September Mourning is an unsigned act from New York City. The band is fronted by front woman and rock model M Lazar. Here is a their video for "A Place to Call Your Own" -

The Epitaph Fall Tour - Every Time I Die, Bring Me The Horizon, Oh Sleeper, and Arcitects (UK)

On September 12, 2009 The Kollective will be proud to present the Epitaph Fall Tour with co-headliners New York's Metalcore masters Every Time I Die and Britian's colossal Bring Me The Horizon. In the supporting slots on Salt Lake City stop will be Solid State artist Oh Sleeper and hardcore fanatics Architects. The tour will make its Utah stop at SLC's own Murray Theater on Saturday September 12th.

Every Time I Die is out on tour to support their newest record New Junk Aesthetic, which is also their Epitaph records debut. The album is hailed as new Metalcore masterpiece by the collective of singer Keith Buckley, guitarists Andy Williams and Jordan Buckley, bassist Josh Newton, and drummer Michael "Ratboy" Novak. Though during the process they lost drummer Novak, it does not mean that Every Time I Die will be a leg short. Touring drummer Ryan Leger will be filling in the vacant spot left by Novak.

Every Time I Die's new record New Junk Aesthetic is out September 15th on Epitaph records.

Tour support Bring Me The Horizon are already heroes of Metalcore in their homeland of England but with their new album, Suicide Season, a ferocious and interesting front man in Oliver Skyes, and a recent tour through the US with Hardcore titans Thursday these Metalcore newcomers are poised to rip apart the US scene with their own vision of metal.

In support are good friends of Bring Me The Horizon and fellow English men Architects. They will be supporting their 2009 release Hollow Crowns on Century Media. The band stirred up controversy on the internet when a video of singer Sam Carter surfaced that showed him fighting with Bring Me The Horizon's singer Oliver Skyes. The video turned out to be staged, but nonetheless fans of Bring Me The Horizon sent many hate mail messages to the Architects and it still causes some controversy to this day.

Finally Solid State artist Oh, Sleeper will be supporting Every Time I Die and Bring Me The Horizon by providing their own brand of melodic and atmospheric metal. They will also be touring in support of their newest recording effort Son of the Morning, released August 25th. The album has some major religious overtones due to the subject matter of the album. It is a concept album about the end battle between God and the Devil. Solid State is known for pushing the boundaries of Metalcore and harder genres while still maintaining their Christian mentalities.
